Hornets Women learn opponents in Women’s Challenge Shield

Rochdale Hornets Women have been drawn at home to Fryston Warriors in Round 1 of the Women’s Challenge Shield.

The Hornets Women are one of 14 League 1, League 2 and Merit teams to have entered the competition at this stage. 

Winners of the Round 1 ties will advance to the next round, at which point teams from the RFL Women’s Championship (excluding those in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup) will enter the competition. 

Teams who lose in their Women’s Challenge Shield first round match will be entered into the supplementary Challenge Plate competition.

The winner of the Hornets Women’s first round tie will go on to face Oulton Raidettes away from home in Round 2 (ties to take place on Sunday 13 April). 

First round ties are scheduled to take place one week earlier, on Sunday 6 April.
