RIP Sir Tony Lloyd

Rochdale Hornets are saddened to learn of the death of our supportive Rochdale MP Sir Tony Lloyd.

Sir Tony Lloyd, the Labour MP for Rochdale, "died peacefully" at home this morning, his family has said in a statement.

Rochdale Hornets Chairman Andy Mazey commented:

"Rochdale Hornets pays tribute to Sir Tony Lloyd, and we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He was a highly valued member of Rugby League’s All-Party Parliamentary Group, and offered great support to myself the club since he became our constituency MP.

We will always be grateful for the support he gave and his dedication to sport in Rochdale. Rest assured we will find a fitting way to best honour him as a club. 

May he rest in peace.”
