Dan Nixon and Jack Hansen to leave club

Rochdale Hornets can confirm that winger Dan Nixon and half-back Jack Hansen have left the club following the conclusion of the 2026 season, in order to take up opportunities elsewhere.

Nixon was offered an improved deal for 2027 but has decided to move on, bringing to an end his six-year association with the club.

Debuting back in 2021, Nixon has gone on to make 95 appearances in Hornets colours, scoring 60 tries. 

The 24-year-old was initially promoted to the first team squad from academy partners Hopwood Hall College, and has gone on to establish himself as a real fan favourite at the Crown Oil Arena over recent years. 

Hansen, meanwhile, joined the club back in February after Halifax Panthers went into liquidation. 

He made 23 appearances for the club, scoring five tries, but has now opted to pursue a new opportunity with another club in the Betfred Championship.
