Ethan Wood signs new two-year deal

Rochdale Hornets forward Ethan Wood has agreed a new two-year deal, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2028 season.

Wood is currently in his debut season with the club, having joined the club following a two-year stint at Hunslet.

He has made a total of 14 appearances for the club, including a Betfred Challenge Cup appearance against Wigan Warriors. During that time, he has also scored two tries.

"Signing this extension was an easy decision for me. I believe in where this club is heading and I want to be part of building something special here," Wood said.

"We’ve got a strong group and I’m hungry to keep improving and competing at the highest level."

Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “Delighted to have extended Woody till the end of 2028. Another key piece of business demonstrating that we are committed to retaining our best young talent and building for the future here at Rochdale Hornets.

“Ethan has proved a fantastic signing for us this year already, and back rowers who are tough, brave, run and tackle hard are what every coach is looking for.

“Ethan is all of the above and more, with genuine quality we believe he is one of the best young back row forwards in the division and will only get better over the course of the next two years"
