Hiske Blom re-signs for Hornets Women for 2026

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of utility half Hiske Blom for the 2026 season.

The 29-year-old Dutch international re-signs for the club following a successful debut season during our promotion year.

“I’m really excited to be back for 2026 and join the girls for another season," she said. 

"The way the team grew last year was amazing to be a part of. I was honoured to be able to play and win the finals with the Hornets. 

"I’m very excited to see the team develop even further and hopefully reach another final. I’m so happy to be on the field again with such amazing team-mates and becoming better together. I can’t wait to see what’s next for all of us!”

Women's head coach Ben Bird said: “We've been lucky enough to have some exceptional players commit to us over the last few years, and Hiske is right up there with the most talented. 

"She has a devastating running game, has played half-back at international level, and is so extremely strong defensively. 

"As talented as she is though, she works as hard as anyone. She'll go from beach rugby to playing at Heysham in torrential rain but will run the hard yards every time. I, like the rest of the team, are so happy to have her with us again this year.”
