Emma Jenkinson re-signs for Hornets Women for 2026

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of forward Emma Jenkinson for the 2026 season.
The 19-year-old forward returns to the Hornets Women following a successful debut season during our promotion year, winning the club's Coaches' Player of the Year award.
On agreeing to remain with the club, Jenkinson said: “I am super excited to get back on the field with the Hornets. What we achieved last year was incredible for the squad as a whole, and I can’t wait to see what this season has to bring.
"This year, my biggest goal is to be the best player I can be for myself but also for my team-mates. The consistent support from the coaches and background staff makes the learning and enjoyment of playing rugby so much easier.
"I would also love to thank my sponsor from last season who has also decided to support me again through this coming season. The ongoing support is very much appreciated.
"I think the season will definitely be a step up from last year, but I’m sure the team will rise to the challenge and I cannot wait to get to work and see what we have to bring.”
Rochdale Hornets Women head coach Ben Bird said: “Emma was a cornerstone of the team and our pack last year. As a 19-year-old girl in a good team, that seems a strange thing to say unless you've watched her play.
"Emma pulls off the defensive plays in a game that turn momentum. Technically in attack and defence, she's very good. You can tell she has come through a really good system at Leigh Miners, playing with some of the best players in the game.
"I expect Emma to go to another level this year, and again be an example for the younger girls in the squad to follow.”
