Molly Udale-Wiliams receives England Community Lions Under 21s call-up

Rochdale Hornets Women full-back Molly Udale-Wiliams has been named in the latest England Community Lions Women's U21 squad.

The squad has been named in preparation for their upcoming fixture in the autumn against the Wanderers, a touring side from Australia. 

The game will take place at Wigan St Judes on Friday 10 October (6pm kick-off). 

Udale-Williams has been a standout performer in the Northern Women’s League Two since joining the club back in February.

This international call-up demonstrates the hard work she has put in over the last six months, and as a club we couldn't be any prouder to see her included.

Ahead of facing the Wanderers, she will join her fellow England Community Lions Women's U21 representatives for two training sessions.

"I’m incredibly grateful to all the coaches and team at Rochdale Hornets for their unwavering support, belief and guidance," Udale-Williams said. 

"Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Being selected for the England Community Lions Women's Under 21s is a huge honour and a reflection of everything the club and team have helped me achieve in such a short space of time. 

"I’m proud of myself for reaching this milestone after only six months in the game, and even prouder to represent a club and the supporters who mean so much to me."

On the news, Hornets Women head coach Ben Bird said: "Molly joined us this year having played no rugby league before. 

"She's had her doubters, and at times she's been her biggest doubter. However, she's committed herself entirely and you can see the results in her performances and the influence she's had on the team. 

"I'm so proud of her, of how she's built the resilience she needed, and her development as both a player and a person."
