Joe Taira announces retirement from professional game

The club can confirm that prop forward Joe Taira has made the difficult decision to retire from professional rugby league.

Taira returned to the Hornets for a third spell during the off-season, having previously made more than 100 appearances during his first two stints. 

The 35-year-old Fijian veteran featured twice upon his return, coming off the bench against Cornwall and Oldham in the 1895 Cup. 

Joe has since informed the club of his decision to step away from the professional game, and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.
