Holly Coburn joins Hornets Women for 2025

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the signing of half Holly Coburn for the 2025 season.

The 27-year-old half returns to Hornets following a spell out of the sport.

She becomes the fifth signing to join Ben Bird's squad ahead of the 2025 season.

“I joined Hornets because of my history with the club. I used to watch the men’s team when I was younger and am excited for the direction the Women’s team is going and how I can contribute. I’m hoping to improve as a Rugby League player and make sure I give everything possible each time I step on the field.

Thankful for the support from the management and coaching team. Matt, Rob and Ben are building amazing foundations for the club and a brilliant rugby community for us to be a part of.”

Rochdale Hornets Women head coach Ben Bird said: “Holly was one of the first people I contacted after getting back involved at Hornets. She's without doubt one of the most talented female rugby players in Rochdale. Playing rugby league as a youngster and part of the all-conquering Hollingworth High girls side, Holly learned the game early and it shows in her ability with the ball. After a break from rugby league and having played some rugby union at Littleborough, it feels about the perfect time for Holly to get back in to the 13 a side code and realise her undoubted potential.”
