Hornets coaching staff confirmed for 2025 season

The club can confirm Gary Thornton’s backroom team ahead of the 2025 season.

Head coach Thornton will take charge of his third full season at the Hornets, after he signed a new one-year extension back in July. 

Following the departure of assistant coach Pete Eccles, there will be three coaches forming part of Thornton’s immediate backroom team. 

Anthony Thewliss will continue to serve as assistant for a third successive year, alongside Martyn Ridyard and Gregg McNally, who will combine the role with their on-field commitments.

Dave Ramsbottom will continue as team manager, with Hayley Price staying on as medical lead.

New signing Tom Spencer will act as strength and conditioning coach and Scott Leyland comes in as the club’s new performance analyst, having undertaken a similar role at Leigh Leopards last season. 

Unfortunately, the club have said goodbye to assistant sports rehabilitator Rebekah Moorhead.

Rebekah has returned home to Ireland, and she leaves with our best wishes for the future.
